Absolutely no crowd for lunch. I had a gyro and side salad. Ingredients were fresh. Service was prompt. Portions very large. My choices were too much. But one of our group also ordered dessert.
I used to love this place and have taken many many people here over the years. Despite spotty service, the food was always good.nnToday, my friend ordered Spaghetti and Meatballs but asked for it with marinara instead of meat sauce. Usually not a huge deal at restaurants. They just swap one for the other. They had the audacity to charge us $8 for the sauce substitution! A whole side of spaghetti and sauce is only $7 on the menu but just a sauce change was an $8 charge? We didn’t even get extra food for the $8, just sauce that the pasta swam in. I know restaurants are hurting but this killed it for this loyal customer. So disappointed when I have been trying to help mom and pop restaurants as much as I can during the pandemic. I won’t be back.
Very good food. Service is ok. One of the managers was clearly in training as he was not familiar with much of the menu. I would recommend the grilled lamb chops which are excellent. The calamari is also good as an app. In the summer, it is really nice sitting outside. Powhatan does not get a lot of traffic so it is relatively quiet.
Staff was above great. Been wanting to stop by for over 5 years. Even with the wait was not disappointed. Only regret is I had to go back to work.
The Jewel of Old Town! Long been a favorite Greek restaurant; food is delicious and service excellent. I have been eating at their outdoor patio...they have heaters to keep you warm. Love this place!
