The Wharf

Great location in Old Town. Food and service were excellent. Monday special was Mussels.....got them withnthe butter and garlic sauce....they were tender and delicious.nSalmon dinner was cooked to perfection and all the sides were fantastic.

Had dinner with the family this past Friday. The food was just okay to me. The calamari and oyster appetizers were the standout highlights of our meal. I've dined here many times in the past with my family and for business meals...even referred them fir private events; but, I was really disappointed this time. The 2 star rating was for the service and the weirdness of the waitstaff. The service wasn't great... we really had no idea who our waiter was, we were told it was the older gentleman who was often MIA the entire evening. We had to beg to order appetizers and then they took away the menus. So we had to beg to order our meals. Our server hardly ever came by to ask us if we wanted anything. The young lady working upstairs did ask my son if we wanted more bread and lemonade. Water glasses were never refilled, along with several other faux pas. My biggest problem was that we were treated differently than the other tables. They were less attentive and slower in service towards us. We also got the impression that they assumed we would just order drinks and appetizers...and that's it. There was never any conversations ...explanation of the specials. The only obvious difference between us and the other tables seated at the same time would have been our race. I hate to think that in 2021; but, it was too obvious. Which is a shame. The bill was over $200 and I tipped 20% as I always do; but, it wasn't deserved. Management needs to have a conversation with their waitstaff to make sure they are treating all customers the same.

Amazing Italian restaurant in Alexandria Virginia. I live in New Jersey, but every time my family and I are in this location we always make it a tradition to come to the Wharf. The food is delicious, the service is fantastic, the atmosphere is stunning, and the decor is excellent. I highly recommend this restaurant.

Food wasn’t good at all, is was just not worth the price, service seemed bothered when we asked for things. Just all underwhelming, very disappointing from last visit which was years ago but didn’t expect such a dramatic drop in taste and service. Could’ve gotten same steak and seafood ordered at silver diner I’m sorry to say... really did love this place

The food was excellent and the service was top notch! We sat outside where we could enjoy the live music and people watch on the street. We will definitely be back!
