I had apply for gift for my 2 kids since November today I had the appointment to picked them up & when I get there they told me that they had already been pick up & im like how if you need my ID ? How could someone picked it up without My Id?? & they just told me to get off the parking & that they couldn’t do nothing about it. I am very sad because I work day & night to be able to feed my kids & even like that I can afford to buy them toys, I was mostly excited for this toys because they usually give jackets & my son was getting a bicycle he had been asking for. Now I can’t stop crying because I won’t be able to give my kids anything . Because they gave my kids toys to someone else . This Christmas will be very sad for me to see my kids not able to open up toys & seeing everyone else’s kids happy with their toys. I am very sad. Cant stop crying.

Very friendly place that is not only a church but also helps with financial difficulties. Would always come back for more volunteer stuff.

Not organized when it comes to registration for the Christmas gifts as well as the appointment time to pick up the Christmas gifts. They ask the parents to write a Christmas list for the children 3 gifts each which is wonderful but the children really don’t receive any of the gifts they ask for at all, instead next time I think they should just have an opportunity for all the toys donated there to be laid out for the kids to choice there option of toys Selection instead of asking the parents to write a Christmas list of 3 toys the children want for Christmas when Salvation Army knows they don’t really ever give the children what they ask for ahead of time anyway!! I kids never get what they ask for instead Salvation Army choices what they get from donations!! This year they gave my child a bike with both flat tires and one of my children didn’t even get anything at all.... they got to do better than this and be more Organize next year hopefully. I know the one in Fairfax Woodbridge in London county always is organized and gives children exactly what they want on their Christmas list but not here in Alexandria. I’m just happy they did give Dignity and respect to those in need and compassion at least they did that which is all that is less fortunate person ask for anyway and at least they did give gifts to my children this year I am very grateful for that
