I had a 17 day rental through Genco which I extended by another week. The entire process was super smooth even though I was there during the quarantine times. Gary was super helpful throughout. Gave an upgrade when picking up the car, and even dropped us to the airport on our last day. And when it comes to prices renting through Genco definitely turned out cheaper than Avis (with corporate discounts and no airport fees).nnOverall great experience.nAlso Gary mentioned they are the only rental place to rent out Teslas. Probably next time :)

The best place to rent a car by far on Hawai'i. You get a very nice quality car for the best prices on the island. Fantastic service gets the car to you right away when you land, and leaving is a breeze too. The owner is so friendly and knows so much about spearfishing! (not important for renting a car, but a definite plus if you need local tips)

What a great experience. To start off, Genco picked us up at the airport and dropped us back off at our gate. They provided a small SUV, for much less than the cost of an economy car at the major car rental companies. They encouraged us to use our auto insurance since it is through USAA. Among the bonuses of renting from Genco's, in addition to the price, was the quality of the vehicle. You are paying less for a slightly older car; however, this means that when you are hitting all the tourist destinations, you have a vehicle that looks local.nFurther, they provided us the basics of how to navigate the remote roads around the Big Island and the best times to visit some of the popular locations. A big recommendation for Genco for your Big Island car rental. They will have the vehicle you are looking for from an economy to a 4x4.

Genco is a small organization, but they make things nice and easy. I found their listing on another site and called them directly to rent, instead of going through a middle man. I like to do that when I can to help small businesses out. The customer service was excellent, and the rate for the Hyundai Accent we got was exceptionally inexpensive, compared to Hertz and the larger competitors. Though they are located about 15 minutes to the airport, they personally picked us up when we arrived. The car was clean and in great condition, and got us where we needed to go for ten days. We stopped by their location on the way to the airport when we left, and we were driven to the airport from there and dropped off easily. Everything was completely free of hassle. I can't be happier about going with a local small business, rather than a large agency.
