Cafe Pesto Hilo Bay

Great food, really great portions. Shared a fish sandwich and order soup. The coconut calamari is very flavorful. Shrimp nachos have huge shrimp and filling. The chicken, goat cheese pizza is a burst of flavor. Didn't give us a hard time having a baby making a mess. Attentive service. The restaurant is so cute and classic Hawaiian inside. Wish I knew the history of the place.

Not the best food, but the Margaritas are delicious!

Delicious! I strongly recommend the cheesecake with lilikoi sauce. Our server took several minutes to get to us but after he made his way over he was present often enough. We loved the flavors that our food had and could see why this is such a popular place.

The food was tasty and the only thing was that the waiter didn’t get my order correctly. The pizzas are great, love the Caesar salad there. Shrimp scampi could have had more garlic.

Service was excellent, food was not. Large pieces of toppings thrown on the bland crust is an insult to pizza. The cheesecake was inedible, flavors made no sense. That sauce doesn’t belong a cheesecake. Don’t get the hype. I’d skip this place. They need a new chef. With all the wonderful local ingredients around it’s a shame that they can’t make good food.
