We love this place!!!! While in the Marines we would stop and eat there before we went up the mountain to train. Huge pancakes!!!! Grateful citizens would pay for our food from time to time!

Family. That's the vibe forever! Nothing is wrong here, it's all just authentic. Huge portions...made with that love and promise of nap time later...this is childhood for me. It's local, it's a classic....it's always right to me...Mahalo Hawaiian Style!!❤ufe0fud83eudd19

I'm surprised at how busy this place was for the quality. It had huge ratings but I thought that they were all way over rated. Food portions were of average size. I did not taste anything special about it, and it tasted bland. My food arrived after everyone else was finishing their order and we ordered at the same time. They also charged us for the coffee we ordered but never received. The kitchen is fairly open so if your seated in the front side then you can see them cooking. It looked like nothing was even seasoned. The cooks were also very loud and talked casually about their lives. If your close to the public one should be mindful of the patrons. I recommend parking in the back as the front is tight and congested. Much easier in the back. Bathroom was alright and clean. Restaurant is very compact so getting around might be a little difficult for handicap unless there is a secondary route. I know choices are limited for eating on the big island but I think the stars in the review for this place isn't deserving of the quality or service. On my next island hop I will drive by this place and give another place a try.

Last stop for us on our Hawaiian adventure! It was fabulous. Small little local dive with amazing breakfast. The pancakes are huge! The side pancakes are the same size as an order of pancakes so plan on sharing those bad boys. Highly recommend.

My wife and I had high expectations for this place from all the talk about it. We have also been to the Hawaiian style Cafe in Hilo which was absolutely amazing. We both got breakfast dishes, the pancakes were massive, and I would be impressed if anyone could ever finish them. The food was good, I would not classify it as amazing though.
