Great adoption clinic. All their animals are spayed and neutered and up to date on all shots.

I adopted a dog from Benewah County Humane Society on 4/28/2014. She is an excellent dog that I have adored since the day I got her. The staff were quick to get back to my email inquiry and very easy to coordinate with. My dog Iooked well taken care of and well loved when I picked her up, another thing I really appreciate about this shelter. Quick response time, flexible to my schedule, good animal care, wonderful staff. If I am ever looking for another animal, I am checking here first!

Lovely little animal shelter. It has a very homey feel to it. The staff are exceptionally friendly. From my understanding they are a no kill shelter. If you are going to adopt please do it here.

Nessa Marie Hoyt,tttttttt8-8-17nnAs a member of the Board of Directors for Hope’s Haven Animal Shelter I will clear a few things up for you. First of all Hope’s Haven is not animal control, the shelter does not pickup animals nor does it request anyone to pick up animals. All complaints of animal neglect and abuse are directed to Benewah County Sheriff’s Office. A sheriff’s deputy investigates the animal complaint and if the animal/s have food, water and shelter no action will be taken.nnIn your case the animals were neglected by abandonment. The sheriff’s office received multiple calls on the animals and when they investigated the animals had food, water, and shelter. The water was from a nearby creek, food provided by a neighbor (and not the ones you mentioned), and they had partial shelter.nnYou said the puppies were born after you and your family were gone for the summer? When the four puppies were brought to the shelter by a “Good Samaritan” they so impacted with worms they could not defecate and were near death. The mother was diagnosed by a local veterinarian as having serious health issues as well. So in reality the person that brought them in saved their lives. And when Lisa Cooper came to the shelter with a Sheriff’s Deputy to retrieve the animals she could not identify any of the kittens.nnHope’s Haven Animal Shelter does not or will not release animals based on a phone call or calls. The owner or representative must come to the shelter show proof of ownership and pay boarding fees and for any medical treatment.nnThis entire issue could have been avoided by you or your representative coming to the shelter on day one by identifying the animals and paying for their medical treatment and boarding fees. Then the animals would have been released to you. But instead you elected to make threating phone calls to the shelter and get the Sheriff’s Office involved to get the animals back without paying boarding fees and medical expenses.nnHope’s Haven Animal Shelter is a nonprofit no kill shelter that depends on the generosity of donations from the community for its survival. Responsible owners spay and neuter their pets…
