Juniper Campground

The bathrooms are awesome! Clean and with showers. Try to get a campsite in the trees by the main road. The ones by the lake are windy and there are no trees/shade. Campsite 17 and 11 are good!

Would have given 5 stars if it weren't for a few drawbacks. Juniper campground is beautiful and clean. It is located on the far end of Rockport State Park right next to the reservoir. There are plenty of shade trees in the campground. All of the spots are pretty spacious and have beautiful views of the lakes and mountains. The campground and bathrooms were clean. Each spot is normally $30 and comes with partial hookups (water and electric) a pavilion, grill, table and fire pit.nnUnfortunately they only had a couple spots left and they were doubles. Doubles are for people who have 2 RV's and don't mind sharing two partial hookups that are very close together and sharing only one table, grill and fire pit. I don't believe that a double spot should be the same price that you would pay for two individual spots with much more room and each of them having their own separate table, grill, fire pit and pavillion. We had to pay $60 per night (instead of a reasonable $30) for an extra parking spot and partial hookup that we didn't use. Also we got in late and by the time we found the spot and got hooked up it was after 10pm. We probably should have saved that money and used the generator somewhere for that night. I feel that $60 per night for one motorhome with partial hookups, even in a double spot, is overpriced. I will say the weather was beautiful and there were hardly any mosquitoes at all which was a HUGE plus. The beach access is really close by but it is really rocky and hard to walk down, especially wearing sandals, because it is steep in some parts. If they added a few steps and a handrail going down to the water and cleared out some of the rocks on the beach, so you can walk safely with little kids and have a comfortable place to sit, it would be perfect. The water was chilli but we got used to it. The air was fresh and clean and the water did not have any weird smells.nnDespite some of the drawbacks we still really loved our time there and felt like this was definitely a place we wanted to return to. We just don't want to pay $120 for 2 nights (one late night arrival) with only partial hookups and no Wi-Fi in the actual campground. They do have free Wi-Fi in the parking lot of the marina for emergencies but you have to either unhook and drive over or walk quite a distance to get there.

The view from our camp spot overlooked the lake. The site was clean and well maintained. The marina was close to everything and was very helpful in telling us what the fish we biting on.

Really great RV camping site. The grounds and bathrooms are maintained really well. None of the sites are too far from the water, which makes transporting stuff to and from the beach really convenient. I would stay here again.

Great camp hosts. Fun,smaller camp ground. Very well kept. Restrooms and showers were super clean.
