Smelled of urine, drug deals in the parking lot and homeless camped on the riverbank. Was sad to see as this was a nice little walking trail at one time

I used to enjoy walking along the river trail that extends through the entirety of Reno & Sparks, I had a bike for a time and could safely use the trail without concern for motor vehicles running me over but that was a while back. I don't go anywhere down by the river anymore, what was once beautiful is overrun with homeless encampments, trash strewn about with no regard to the environment, even a fair share of irresponsibly disposed of syringes, it's terribly sad. In the last few years several murders have occured, altho rarely publicized it seems reckless to walk or bike alone along the river making it an invitation for assault, robbery or worse. Sadly, Id say skip it & pass on the entire riverwalkud83dude25

If you are a nature person then John Champion is a nice park for you.

This park doesn’t exist anymore. It’s fenced off and filled with scrap and homeless

Nature at it's best! Less garbage all over, and less people... A great place to watch sunsets and just chill with nature.
