This is one of the greatest look out points in Reno. If you're looking to search the skies for UFO's or use a telescope to view stars and planets this would be one of the best places to do so.nThis also offers a great view of Reno at night as well. I would recommend visiting a few times during the day so that you get an idea of how the land is laid out. It gets very dark here and there are an abundance of tripping hazards.

This is a cool lookout, and you can walk down to get a higher lookout towards the view of the mountains. There is even a spot that has a stone bench which you climb up to (there are stairs). There is even a pit toilet there with 2 stalls. The only downside is that there is TONS of trash and graffiti everywhere, due to irresponsible people/visitors. It does take away from the beauty of nature when it is littered with booze bottles and packs of cigarettes.

Views of the valley are stunning. Trail to rock outcropping is well maintained. Plenty of off highway parking. Overlook is a teen/YA hangout after dark. Heard a few people tossing and breaking bottles on the rocks last night. :(

Awesome place to go to get away! Beautiful view and quiet!

Lookout Point is about halfway up the 431 going east from South Reno Foothills to Virginia City it's an amazing small spot on a curve with only parking for about 10 cars if that.
