After a nightmarish night driving through the COVID ghost town of Albuquerque, we pressed on to Santa Rosa and crashed after driving 13 hours.nnNext morning we stopped into Sun & Sand very hungry.nnWhat a great experience -- fast service and the breakfast was perfect. My wife had probably the best green chili and cheese omelette she's ever had. My eggs/bacon/hashbrowns were sooo good.nnWe were pleased to experience their obvious local civic pride they feel, as evidenced in their restaurant decor.nnTruly a gem of the otherwise declining state of New Mexico.

Food was awful! The chicken seemed as though it was frozen in the freezer for about 6 months then thrown on a plate and microwaved until completely dry. Then thrown in a warmed up tortilla with no flavor sauce or cheese and put on a plate. Seriously. It was horrid. Worst chicken enchiladas I've ever eaten. My wife had the chicken strip with fries. The chicken and fries tasted like the fry oil is still original from when they opened the restaurant and our frys were soft and spongey more than golden crispy. I hope it's usually old people that eat there so that way they don't have the taste buds to understand this place needs to learn how to cook

Great place to grab a home style meal when traveling the I-40.nnWe had a perfect cinnamon role; fluffy pastry, lots of cinnamon and easy on the icing. My green chili omelette was also the bomb with the chilis adding a ton of flavor and just a bit of heat.nnIf you're going through Santa Rosa, check them out.
