Stopped in for a lunch break and found out it was some of the best BarBQ in the area. Owner and cook is from Texas and knows what he is doing. Got the pulled pork and sausage and the wife got the brisket and sausage and it was on point. The potato salad was great as well as the beans. The sauce was better than I have had in a while. If you ever get through this little town you have got to stop and eat at the Big Dawg BarBQ stand.
We were driving thru and just needed a snack. So glad we stopped! The food was amazing. We had the brisket and sausage with potatoes salad...excellent!
The pulled pork sandwiches are amazing!!! And OMG the potato salad is to die for!!! Glad we stopped as we were just driving by! Would highly recommend!!!
great place to get lunch especially their ribs and sausages
An oasis and gem in eastern Colorado. The ribs had a great finish over tender, flavorful meat. The brisket was smooth as butter. The atmosphere is seemingly right out of Austin, but rather is authentic small-town, remote Colorado instead of put-on hipster-ness. The Big Dawg is definitely worth a detour. Service was fast and friendly, even to a group of 13 Scouts BSA returning home from Philmont.
