I am a builder who has 42 years in home building and remodeling. I have hired Garber and crew in the past, many times, going back to 1987, and am also a neighbor of Reeder. Yes, Reeder has a very old house which is about 3 times the size of a normal house. Having witnessed this stripping job and visited the job site several times in 2017, I must offer the other side of the story. I was very interested in the new paint removal techniques. I am very familiar with the job, as I came by to ask many questions. Garber is definitely the best, most innovative, and most honest person in the business. When you have Garber prep a house for painting, it will last longer than any other painter, because he gets ALL of the loose paint off, unlike other painters. He uses better tools. Garber is too honest, soft spoken, and easy for a bully like Reeder to walk over. Originally, probably 65-85 percent of the surface became bare and primed in a rapid, reasonable amount of time. Then Reeder changed his mind, and demanded hand heat tools stripping, while thousands of windows were virtually stripped without cracking (a trick) and painted. Stripping is ridiculously slow with off the shelf tools. In November, Garber returned. This time, he returned with a home-built machined double-circuit 3000W infrared stripper! This interested me! In December, he came up with a faster custom machine-shopped 4500W infrared stripper--much faster unit, which must have cost a good deal to build. Around Christmas 2017, Reeder threw a party. Some clown came out and covered up some stripped wood before it was sanded!. In the early Spring, I saw Reeder hire Garber's female painter who was the slowest, least physically capable worker. She milked little areas with off the shelf paint strippers for 2 month, before arriving with the earlier slower prototype paint burner that Garber built for small areas! She not only stole Garber’s first 1500W stripper after failing with off the shelf units, but milked Reeder over the next several months, as she (slowly as possible) stripped off areas that had all of the paint removed, sanded, and then primed! What took her 3 months would have taken Garber a week. Reeder was obviously being cheated by this woman, and saved no money, even if she charged less than minimum wage. Brain Reeder seems to be too stupid to realize this-based on his review.nnA stripped and repainted surface cannot cannot peal in 3 months as Reeder claims. Not possible, unless there is water leaking behind the siding. Yes, there were obvious rivers of water cascading in certain areas of the siding where there were failing gutters. Also, was roof is the type that is way overdue to be replaced and is prone to leaking. Reeder did not replace storms before the winter which damages paint from winter condensation. As far as stealing paint, goes. The job was obviously a pay as you go deal, where no actual paint was supplied by the owner. These jobs are invoiced, Time and Material, after the work is done, with used items listed. After which the customer pays for the time and materials used during that pay period. I will alert Garber to this post, so photos of that period in 2017 can be posted.

I hired Dennis Garber in August of 2017, He worked from August to November and didn't finished the project, stole paint we purchased and caused thousands of dollars of property damage. The work he completed is peeling and poorly executed.
