Letchworth State Park, Inspiration Point

Inspiration point and the trails that travel to and from it all have beautiful views of the Genesee River and surrounding scenery; though much of the viewing is through trees. We took the Gorge trail from Inspiration Point, past the upper falls, and to the portage bridge and back. We stopped at the portage Bridge for a snack, there are a few benches and tables along the way. On the way back, we passed by Inspiration Point (and our vehicle) and continued on the Gorge trail to the Lower Falls Trail, which has absolutely beautiful views of the lower falls and of the bridge over the water. Be sure to check your map for trail details (the lower falls trail has something like 120 steps). A must see while in the area.

Lovely weather in August and the scenic views were fabulous!
