*EDIT: 9/13/20*nGave Pikliz another shot. This time, oxtail with mac and cheese and cabbage/carrots. It was moist and delicious. Bumping the score up by 1. Will evaluate for consistency later. For now, I am happy and full.nn------------------------------------------------------------------------------nWas hoping to finally get some good Caribbean food in Boston. I guess I was homesick.nnRegardless, I ordered oxtail. I'd say about half of the meat tasted ok. The other half was tough and almost inedible. Good black rice though, which is fortunate because half of the portion was rice. Plantains were ok.nnI may give it another shot later and update this review. Oxtail can be inconsistent no matter where you get it. But for now, it is what it is.

Okay so don't get me wrong the food is deliciousssssss. But for some reason they don't serve bean sauce with the Legume? Has anyone else experienced this? I've never seen a Haitian restaurant serve legume without it haha so if I ever want legume I have to go elsewhere unfortunately.

Ordered the jerk chicken, rice and beans, and cabbage and carrots for delivery. took an hour to receive but it was REALLY good. Coming from the Caribbean it was really good authentic jerk chicken. Would order again.

I was super excited to try this place. I typically like to read reviews before eating somewhere, and this place seemed to have great food judging from their ratings. I had seen it in passing on Yelp a few months ago when I was looking up Haitian food. This place is about 40 minutes away from me so I did not come here to fulfill my Haitian food craving THAT day. HOWEVER, TODAY I happened to be in the area of Somerville which doesn’t happen often, so I thought it would be a good idea to try the yummy food and I wanted to support a Haitian small local business. The service here was HORRIBLE. BAD COMMUNICATION! As soon as I walk in, she doesn’t even greet me. She just walks back and forth to the back, until I felt compelled to make eye contact and say something. I finally get her attention and place my order. Most of the food looks all cooked and ready for take-out, so I didn’t think it would take THAT long. WELL LET ME TELL YOU, I WAITED 30 MINUTES!! Then I found out my order was wrong and I had to wait almost an hour. I don’t even wait that long in a restaurant when I’m sitting down to dine-in...Let alone a place that seems to be a take-out spot. Maybe I wouldn’t have been as upset had there been better communication about how long it would take for the food to be finished. Especially because I ordered things that they said they had “ready” . I hate leaving bad reviews, but I was so upset I wasted so much time on my day off. I really hope they step up their customer service and communication skills or I don’t see why anyone would continue to come here.

Picked up at 1pm on Saturday 21st Aug 2020. Man who took my order was slow, inefficient on the phone. Does not know how to take orders.nnWas not wearing mask properly without covering nose, no gloves.nnNot to mention, he was extremely rude and impolite when i simply asked to put the chicken separate from the rice.nnNot sure why he is still hired. Made my experience at Pikliz extremely unpleasant.nnthe good is great but at the end of the day it is about customer service which your man does not have. And he refused to give me his name
