Wilmington Notch Campground

Small campground with maintained sites. The location is close to Lake Placid, Whiteface Mountain, Mount Marcy and more. All sites are fairly flat. Sites are closer together and not very wooded in between. It wasn't crowded when we went so this didn't bother us. The bathrooms are newly renovated and clean with warm water. Staff was seen cleaning during the day. The campground is close to a road and vehicles could be heard during the day but mostly quiet at night. A quick steep path leads you down to a waterfall along Ausable river...you could fish here but the path down is quite steep.

Brand new bathrooms with flush toilets, and good showers (except there’s only 2 in bathhouse). Sites are close together for the most part. The sites up front are less enclosed than the ones in the back which are shadowed by large trees. Everyone was quiet. Beautiful gorge and waterfall just behind the campsite.

Small quiet campground perfectly located to explore the surrounding trails for hiking and mountainbiking.nIt seems people are there to recreate so everyone goes to bed early and is up early.nThe waterfall is worth walking down to.nSites along the road will have traffic noise, highly recommend sites 48-50 along the back boundary for quieter camping.

We stayed with a group for a couple of nights and this was by far the best campsite we've ever been to. Very quiet and respectful crowd. Bathrooms are kept emaculately clean! Some sites are a little close to each other, but it worked great for us as we were a larger group with several booked sites. We're planning on heading back again to the Adirondacks to hike some more mountains and we'll be camping here again for sure!!nnAlso, there's a waterfall on site which is nice to walk to in the morning or evenings!

DEC campground. Not really good for trailers but nice for tents. Clean, nice restrooms. Base camp, no trails or river access by foot from the campground.
