The functional lighthouse at the mouth of Buffalo River. The best view of the lighthouse is from the pedestrian footpath on the Eastern bank of Buffalo River. It was just a quick detour to the north from visiting the main attraction of the Naval and Military Park. Unfortunately, the lighthouse itself is located at a coast guard station and is not easily accessible to the public. You will have to pay a small fee at the Bike Ferry near the Naval & Military Park to get to the actual lighthouse.

Do they own the walkway to the Lighthouse leading along the Buffalo River? If so, when did that happen? I used to walk on the wall along the river for free. Now it costs me $5.

Does anyone know when this place is open? There are no posted hours and every time I drive down its closed. The Cost Guard said its privately owned and doest know the hours. Thanks.

There's a small admission fee to walk to the lighthouse. Discounts for senior citizens and veterans are available. You can get to the lighthouse by taking the Bike Ferry. It's a very short walk or ride from the ferry. You can walk up to the exterior. If you want to see the interior, you can by attending a tour. There's usually one tour each week, either Saturday or Sunday. Check their Facebook page for the schedule. This is the oldest structure still standing at its original location in Buffalo.
