PS #32 Bennett Park Montessori School

This is a great school. I have a 10yo and a 5yo enrolled. It's a large school with almost 900 kids. But my kids are educated in environments that are personal. Environments that are diverse. So far, BPMC has given my kids plenty of academic challenge.

This school was an excellent school when my daughter started school however once she entered 4th grade it was all down hill, I hated that I had to remove her from the school but it was a very low performance school and the fact that she had four teacher during the school year didn't help , the environment of the school is out right ridiculous with children runing around in the hall when they should be in their classes. Its just sad that what use to be an excellent school has now followed the ranks of other City of Buffalo's poor ranking schools.

I am currently a parent of a disabled special education student age 9 with ADHD/ODD attending this school. My complaints are as follows my child had no reported behavior problems as of February 2018 an IEP meeting took place and even though I suggested that my child recieve behavior services based on a two day review the iep team desided it was not necessary and they left it as is. Now months later she is experiencing behavior issues no right ups are taking place no suspension not a meeting with myself and the teacher or with the principal and all this time I was in constant communication with the teacher not once received even a phone call from principal even suggested suspension if infact my child was hurting herself or others teacher refused to take my advice so that tells me my daughter is obviously not in danger or putting someone else in danger. Now from my understanding once there are signs of a behavior change with an IEP student the parent gets notified a meeting takes place to discuss what steps need to take place to give the student all the necessary services they need to be successful not in this case instead the teacher and staff desided to take matters into there own hands by doing restraints on my child without my knowledge. Now I will say it again I was in constant communication with the teacher and she failed to inform me of what they were doing to my child I did not find out what was happening to my child untill CPS was called by the school clamming abuse in the household around Easter break 2018 That's when my daughter had the chance to tell me what was truly happening to her at her school about-the restraints because of bruses on my child arm and leg that my child nore I even knew about untill my child showed me all the restraints and the bruses are placed in the exact places were the arm crosses and the legs get held now they are placing blame on the child over exaggerating every situation tring to make the necessary steps that should have taken place when behavior first started they have poor communication skills with each other and with the parent and have every excuse in the book to justify what they were doing to my child this school is by far the worse school I have ever dealt with. I am a mother of 5 and have NO! Record of abuse nore does her father I am outraged at this situation and I am going to handle this to the fullest extent of the law!!!!
