Awesome campground! Friendly, helpful hosts that are also gracious. Campground located along busy US highway, but traffic noise was not distracting. SPOTLESS restrooms and showers with plenty of hot hot water. If you are camping in the Long Prairie area, do not pass this campground by. Conversations with the owners revealed that they are making steady improvements, so that WIFI may be coming, but not without a cost to us campers. Personally I don't need WIFI everywhere I go.
We stayed for one night on our way to Yellowstone. The bathrooms and showers were private and cleaned very often. This is a nice campground and the owners were friendly and helpful.
Check out a review left in the photos section on google. To the owner . You might want to calm your behavior down. It has resulted in an interesting negative review on facebook!
My husband travels for work, so we may easily visit about 15 RV parks per year. Camp ‘s’more stands out as the absolute worst in terms of accommodating a special request. At check in, we knew that there was only 1 vehicle allowed at the campsite (even though our site was large enough to accommodate both vehicles) what we didn’t realize was just how far we would have to walk to get to our other vehicle. I chose to take the spot further away because my husband is recovering from knee replacement and he works on his feet all day. For me, it’s almost a 3 minute walk. That may not seem like a lot to some, but I’m in my mid 50’s, I have had a stroke and I have an autoimmune disease called Ménière’s which interferes with my balance. Uneven surfaces are hard for me to navigate. Because the park is only about 25% full at any given time, my husband explained our situation to the owners and asked if I could park closer to our camper when the park is not full. Their response was “no”. The owner did suggest we could “swap out” parking close to the camper. How in the heck does that make sense when both occupants have mobility issues? I post this story as a cautionary tale for older couples and people with small children that may be traveling in separate vehicles.nnI have a valid Louisiana handicap tag for my car, but this campground does not have a single handicapped parking spot.nnAs far as the rest of the park, it’s fairly quiet (unless you’re close to the road), it’s shady, clean, and my granddaughter loves the nice playground. There is no WiFi or cable and my cell phone reception (Verizon) is poor at times. Just be sure to read both pages of rules before committing because it’s all non refundable.nnThankfully, my husband was able to warn the rest of his work crew (about 6 campers) about these people and they were able to find other rv parks.nnEdit: a day after I wrote this review, I got a knock on my camper door after 9pm. I was in bed exhausted and trying to rest because I had to fly to New Orleans at 5am the following morning for a medical procedure. The park owner wanted me to move my car back to over flow. The park was about 20% full and I was blocking no one. When I tried to explain that I was packing my car to travel back home and would be leaving at 5am, he became belligerent and started yelling and talking above me. My 58 year old husband had to get out of bed, get dressed and move the vehicle.nNever again.
A great campground with wonderful owners/hosts. Nice large sites with mature trees for shade. Big playground for the kids and plenty of room to run. The rates are more than fair and everyone is very respectful of each other and the rules. There is a great beach on lake Charlotte just a few minutes away. If you're looking for a nice affordable getaway with your family then no reason to look further!
