The visitor's center was closed, but the park ranger that was on duty was so friendly. He gave us some great personal recommendations and shared some great feedback.

Place is great. Visitor Center closed for Covid. DNR workers nearby in site to assist people.

HQ closed for the year but there is still a stamp cancelation station available.

We spent two days at this national park. It's a pretty national park.nnI would say it's mostly for boating, fishing, and camping.nnWe went on a fishing tour with Wade Watson which was awesome. I caught 3 fish throughout the day and 8 were caught total in our group.nnThe other day we rented a pontoon boat from Northern Lights resort and just relaxed on the lake for half the day.nnWe tried to do one hiking trail, but there wasn't really much to see.nnThe flies were really bad. Even with big spray we still got bit a lot.nnWe saw quite a few bald eagles on Lake Kabetogama and one beavers dam. The rock garden was interesting to check out.nnI'm glad we came to see this national park and I think a day or two was all we needed to explore.

This small but excellent visitor center has at least two videos about the history of the area. The staff and Rangers are very helpful and offered advice on all areas of the park. We took the boat tour cruise from here to the Kettle Falls Hotel and area on a day trip. We stayed at a private resort a few miles from here. Worth a visit if you are in the area.
