It truly is a family campground. We don't have young kids, but we found ourselves here on Halloween weekend (in Sep). It was fun decorating our campsite and passing out candy to all the littles. There's a nice pool, convenience camp store/take-pizza &burger joint, big playground, beach, volleyball, kayaks, tubes -too many things to list.nnThe sites are a bit small, not combat-camping small, but not exactly private either. There's a lot of trees and shade, but those trees make it hard getting the bigger rigs in and out, especially with all the cars parked along the road (there is a lot for visitors). They we're completely booked during our stay but at night it was VERY quiet.nnLast thing, the whole place is clean and we'll kept. The staff are friendly and helpful, and they even deliver firewood right to your fire ring.nnIf you have kids (or not) and want to enjoy an outdoor weekend, this is the place!

The owners of this campground are nothing short of amazing! Extremely helpful in every way. After our first trip there this summer, we've gone every single weekend we could. VERY kid friendly, our kids absolutely love the amenities and we love the kayaks. There's nothing better than hearing the flow of the river while you sleep. Grandpa Ray was extremely helpful. When our air pump stopped working, they personally came to our site and blew up our air mattresses for us. The food prices are great and the food itself is amazing, the kids LOVE the water slide, the pool is nice to cool off and the hot tub is great for relaxing, the river itself has a slow current so it's nice for the kids to play in, the campers have always been friendly and everyone seems happy in the area, the playground is well maintained, there's a volleyball net and basketball hoops, the campsites are a nice size. Very fairly priced in every way. HIGHLY RECOMMEND this campground!

We had a wonderful 4 days at River Ridge. Not long enough. We had a riverfront site and enjoyed every minute. The staff was very helpful, the grounds well kept. Something for everyone. We were there midweek between their Halloween weekends & it looked like a lot of fun plans. Can't wait for our stay next year.

We really liked the campground and amenities overall, they have a nice pool, a nice big swimming pond and beach with an inflatable slide/obstacle that is really fun. They also had a nice playground and the staff there was friendly and helpful anytime we interacted with them. But... Only 3 stars because we stayed in one of their cabins, the one we were in is not shaded like the other 2 and with 85+ degree days the heat inside the cabin was unbearable. The cabin was at least 15 degrees hotter than the outside temp. It has a ceiling fan and 2 small windows, but it's not enough to properly vent the heat. The first night it got down to about 70 degrees at night, but we had to prop the door completely open at 1:30am and put our box fan in the open doorway to cool off the cabin. At 1:00am it was still about 80+ degrees inside the cabin, we have a 2 year old and it was very difficult for him to sleep in that heat. The 2nd night it was only supposed to cool down to 80degrees at night, so we just left early as the cabin would have been way too hot to tolerate. If we would have been in the other 2 cabins which are shaded I would give 5*, but if it's gonna be hot you need to make sure you are not in the cabin that gets the direct sunlight. There is only a 5amp breaker on the outlet to the cabin (this is what they told us) also, so you can't power a small AC unit either.

This family campground is all in all very nice. It’s right on a small river that you can kayak or tube down. The campground offered at least one camp activity a day. The bathhouse is in good working order and clean. All of the facilities are taken care of. The owners are outstanding and work so hard every day. The camp sites are a bit close together for our liking, but the campground is pretty quiet even when it’s 100% full.
