On our first night staying at the resort we ordered a cheese board and a dessert for takeout which took over 45 minutes to prepare after them telling us it would only be 20 minutes. Cheese board came with plenty of cheeses but about only 5 small pieces of bread. Dessert was delicious though chocolate cake and pudding cant go wrong with that.nnThe next night we decided to dine in which you had to make reservations for. We had been seated and it took the waiter about 15 minutes to come over to us. We gave our drink order and appetizer. We got the appetizer before we got our drinks and never got any silverware so we had to ask a different waiter to bring us the silverware. Appetizer was okay nothing special tasted like the frozen garlic knots I buy at the grocery store. Drinks were too strong.nnNext day we decided to try the breakfast - no one answers the phone there at the restaurant so good luck getting in touch with anyone. Even to make reservations the night before for dinner we had to call more than 5x in order to get through to someone.
Me and my husband were not impressed with the breakfast and dinner here... unfortunately we didn't like our meals. They should have better food for a resort like this. We went out instead and found way better food! The best dinner I had was at Archers on the pier in Rockland. The food served there was excellent!!! I hate to give bad reviews but La Bella Vita has no good food and it's expensive!!! Sorry!
Pricey dining, go for dinner, skip breakfast.nMy husband and I make a habit of staying at the Samoset in the off-season. We accept that dinner at La Bella Vita will be expensive, but we also haven't been disappointed in the food. (Though $12 for 3 garlic knots seems a little excessive, even if they are good and delivered freshly baked.) But if you want a good breakfast that doesn't break the bank, head in town. (The Brass Compass is a DELICIOUS option.) We spent just under $70 at LBV for breakfast - our plates cost us $16 and $17 (his eggs Benedict came with one egg undercooked), one cappuccino, one hot cocoa, one coffee with Baileys and one latte with Kahlua. The shots of liquor costed us $10 EACH. The Country Side Breakfast was good, nothing special for the price. We were much happier with our delicious and reasonably priced breakfast in town the day prior.nAll of this being said, if you're looking for a fine-dining experience and money isn't an issue, LBV is a good option for dinner. Since their Sunday Brunch Buffet has stopped due to COVID, head into town for breakfast instead - your stomach and wallet will thank you.
Really great place to eat and very convenient for those staying at the hotel. The food is pretty good however I find the prices to lean more towards the higher end. The food is really good and the service is great. The presentation of the environment is also very swell. It is worth checking out.
Visited this restaurant tonight for the first time to celebrate my anniversary. The atmosphere looked nice, the view of the ocean was beautiful, and my mojito was great. Even the appetizer was ok. Once the food arrived, disappointing was an understatement. Portions were pretty small, and the chicken Parmesan was soggy, the pasta overcooked, minimal sauce and cheese. It was worse than what I would expect at a hospital cafeteria and it costed $29. My husband did not eat it and the waiter didn’t even comment or ask when he took it away which tells me he knew it wasn’t great and this wasn’t his first rodeo. Before I left he told me to “write your phone number on the receipt so that if anyone has corona we can call you.” Just like that. We left and went to another restaurant after spending $120 because I did not want to make the waiter feel badly during an already difficult time. I would not recommend.
