We hiked the preserve on 3-22-21. The trails were in good shape, with lots of roots, but only a few spots of ice here and there,so no need for grippers. Absolutely gorgeous views all along the shore. Plenty of spots to hike down by the shore. One of our favorites!

We did one of the big loops if you go all the way down to the shore and then stay right and go down that path. Please note there is hunting nerarby and it is required to wear orange from October I believe to April so be prepared with orange! We picked the dotted red sometimes scary path and everyone did fine. Had a 5, 4 and 2 year old in tow and two pups as well. Please know some of the trail can be really wet or muddy especially if it was raining the day before. Wearing sandals and socks (I know I forgot my good shoes at home) I managed to not get my socks wet! So if you are smart there are definitely ways around the puddle parts! So don't let that discourage you! So many good views all along the way. Went the day after Thanksgiving. The trail can be rooty or rocky at times, definitely not a smooth one. Just a couple small hills here and there but not a lot. Very enjoyable overall. Would rank this as a moderate trail for difficulty.

Great little spot with a couple of different paths you can take. Rather hiking in the forest or meandering along the rocky shoreline, great to be out and enjoying nature. There are about 6-9 parking spots, but doesn't seem to be too busy. The trails are nice, however be ready for rock steps and tree roots more of the way :). Not too different then most paths in ME.

Awesome hike with ocean view every turn .

Breathtaking views, a rare view of the waters edge. The trail is somewhat challenging in places for a novice or person with physical difficulties. Many roots to navigate and a few short elevations.
