If you're reading this review then you already know what you're looking for. A highly skilled, patient, professional guitarist to guide you down the path of becoming a great player. Mike is as good as they get people. His methods work! Plain and simple. You learn to read music while you're developing the proper techniques to play. Mike is a perfectionist so if he see's something that's not right, he'll point it out and show the correct method to keep you from developing bad techniques. He also teaches you songs to play as you go along. When you're ready, you'll be tasked other exercises to work in to your practice routine. His lessons are built around your ability so if you're struggling with something, he will show you different ways to accomplish the lesson successfully. Mike is incredibly versatile and the classes are FUN! ( I have my own "failure' riff that he plays when I mess up, which I hear alot) One of my favorite things is when Mike starts playing a song or noodling around. It's amazing to watch the skills and listen to the music. It's very motivating to witness first hand what can be done on the guitar when you know what your doing. I've noticed that he tends to do this in my lessons when he senses that I may be getting frustrated. He's very intuitive and he knows how to keep you focused and on the right path.
I have been a student with Mike for several years, and have found him to be a very excellent teacher. He takes time with me as a student and very helpful. Not only does he work with me on what songs I want to do, but includes new methods all the time to increase my talents.
Mike teaches both guitar and vocal. He makes time for working on special guitar projects. As an adult guitar/vocal student he has expanded my abilities far beyond my exptectations. I highly recommend Mike.
I have two teenage daughters that take from Mike. They love him. Mike is fun and full of energy and they love to be around him. He makes guitar fun by allowing them to pick their own songs. I love that Mike also teaches them technique which as a mom is important to me so they learn the details of guitar playing. Highly recommend.
I've been taking lessons from Mike Paine for three years. He's a very patient and knowledgeable teacher. He makes it fun and makes you push yourself. I highly recommend him for anyone wanting to learn guitar or improve their skills.
