Ruth does a superb job at perfecting the way a student plays the violin. She fine tunes everything to create a great violinist. She has fun little techniques to help get that perfect bow hold or performance on the violin. Her studio has a waiting room with books - toys and videos for little siblings to stay occupied. You can tell Ruth loves her students and wants them to reach their best capabilities.
I have been studying with Ruth for nine years now. She is a incredible teacher and has taught me to become a great violinist! She is wonderful at teaching beginners as well as teaching more advanced students like myself. Thanks to her I have learned to love the violin. I highly recommend her whether you have a child who you would like to start on the violin or if you are a more advanced violinist and want to improve your technique.
My daughter has been playing violin since she was 3. She out grew her current teacher and we were looking for a teacher that could expand her horizons and help her transistion into the next level. Godfrey Violin & Viola Studio has been the perfect place for us in this regard and we couldn't be happier! In addition I've been able to observe the studio from a beginner's perspective in comparison to other studios in the valley and have to say it's a CLASS ACT STUDIO on both ends of the spectrum! Highly recommend to anyone looking!!
We started 2 of our children with Ruth Godfrey and the Suzuki Violin method when they were 5 & 7, now 7 & 9. My kids have the utmost respect and love for her. For her students, she holds a high, but realistic standard. Ruth is great to work with, and has a team-work mentality with parents. She comes up with exercises and activities on-the-fly that are catered to specific needs. My kids look forward to her monthly group lessons, which are perfectly planned with fun games and beautiful music. Ruth is incredibly talented at what she does, and often brings tears to my eyes while playing along side my kids. I cannot gush enough about Ruth - we love her!
We have been here for 2 years and have had such a wonderful experience at this studio! Ruth has been wonderful to help my children move at a comfortable pace but keep their momentum so they stay interested and challenged. Highly recommend!
