Best banking experience I have had. Laura is always willing to answer every question until you walk away fully understanding the info. Has guided me through my credit building and loans and even the odd question about bank services. Absolutely a model manager. The other ladies are typically friendly and get you in and out.
I have banked with them for years and recently got a truck through them. They were excellent to finance it in the first place but then I decided to refinance it a year later. Laura was working on it and she helped me refinance the truck loan and a personal loan to save me tons of money. They have also even taken time to go through my credit report and tell me exactly what actions I need to take.nIncredible service and love banking with them.
Some of the employees were professional and helpful. However, the branch manager was very rude and disrespectful multiple times. She lied about what time they were closing and was attempting to rush me off of the phone. Any time I attempted to ask a question, I was interrupted before I could even finish my sentence. My husband and I were told by 3 different employees, we needed different documents each time we called about our loan. When I attempted to clear up the misinformation the branch manager continued to be rude and talk disrespectfully to me. When I stated I felt that she needed to apologize for her disrespectful behavior, she told me she would absolutely not apologize to me and if that was all I wanted from her that she would be getting off the phone. To the employees who were helpful and professional, thank you very much. To the branch manager, I think a class in professionalism and customer service would do you some good, especially to customers who are already members of the credit union and military veterans.
A pleasure to bank there. Always polite and very easy to deal with. Laura the bank manager is awesome and always helpful in our banking needs.
Please be informed before banking here. My husband and I have never had such frustrating experiences with a bank or credit union. From the very first lobby experience we should have been concerned. We were asked in the open concept establishment in front of other customers what we'd like our account pin to be. We stated we would write it down but not verbally state in front of others. This was for establishing a checking account. We also signed a vehicle note here. He stated we were good to go on our autopay paperwork. Fantastic! I verified a few weeks later as pay date was quickly approaching. The bank had NO record of us signing these papers. Okay, we set it up again, sent paperwork. Surprise, they found the originals, they were just never entered into the system to have it go into effect. So, be sure to keep track of these things. If you don't, you can't trust that GICU followed through. I've had a couple questions I have called in for the past couple months and not one time do I get the same answer. Training clearly lacks, not the employees fault but an upper level problem and the credit union greatly suffers. Final stick that made us withdraw our accounts...our HELOC was denied...I asked details and they said check back in a couple months. I should add that a fellow credit union gladly established our HELOC for us the next day and we just closed on it. We just wanted to establish not even necessarily use, rates are low...but DENIED by GICU. Lesson learned...but it doesn't end there. When cancelling account, over the phone I was informed my husband and I both needed to be present to close. When I arrived, that wasn't the case...only one of us. More mis-information. Still dealing with one final mess with their auto bill pay portal. It won't let me cancel it, website keeps giving error null but they are still processing from account. Save yourself the headache and bank elsewhere. I'm sad to say this since this bank is in our back yard basically. I really had high hopes to bank at a smaller credit union close to home. We did still decide to move to a credit union...but sadly not GICU. Staff was very friendly each time. No complaints with friendliness but everything else is a mess! Also, Laura is great, I really like her and have high hopes GICU will turn things around. If they ever do, MAYBE we would try again.
