Shrine of the Grotto of the Redemption

Worth a stop if you are anywhere close, especially if you are into rocks and minerals at all. Easily pass an hour or more wandering around looking at giant crystals and beautiful mosaics. Religious themed, but you don't have to be religious to appreciate the artistry and scale of this site. Free will donation. Don't miss the little gift shop.

The Grotto of Redemption really is worth seeing. The number of gems and minerals used and the amount of dedication that just a couple of men had is really amazing. Each section depicts a part of Christ’s life. The staff was friendly. There is also a pond with swans on it, a small park, a gift shop, and a museum. Also, I had to point the phone booth out to my daughter who had never seen one. We purchased some gems and postcards at the gift shop. I’d like to come both at night and to take the tour.

This place is super rad! If you are into gem stones this is a must see. It's open 24hrs too!! Just amazing what people can do when the set their minds to it. I really don't have words. I'd totally visit again, and again.

It was absolutely great. Was so amazed on all the art work it had took to accomplish to structure the shrine. Alot of time and hard work. Loved the stations of the cross was beautiful.

Wow! How Beautiful this place is! If you live in Iowa and haven't seen this place it's a wonderful road trip to drive to and worth it! To think of the time dedication and work this took rock by rock to put together! Go see it!
