Terrific real estate closing attorney.

I contacted the office of Mark O South (Cullman AL) to schedule a closing. A very nice lady answered the phone and was very helpful. I was told a title search would take 3-5 days. It took two weeks. I was told preparation of the documents would take an additional 3 days. I called once a week for an update and twice the nice lady who answers the phone took a message and said I would be called back. I received no return call from the other lady with the answers (we will call her the office manager). I got the office manager on the phone one time and was told the title search came back and Mr South should look at it in the next few days. She sharply said she would call me when it was ready. Waited another week and half and called again. My name and number were taken and I was told the office manager would call me back. Just over an hour later I called again. I told the nice lady that answered the phone that I didn't want to come across as mean but every time I left a message I had never received a return call. She said I am sorry I am the receptionist and just answer the phone. She assured me that she was delivering the messages. It being a Friday, I stopped by to just wait in line as they must have been very busy. As I sat in the waiting room with two other people ahead of me the office manager stepped out and asked if she could help me. I said yes ma'am I am (and stated my name) She said let me get your file and walked across the waiting room and into another office. She stepped back out into the waiting room and said this is your file if you are not happy you can have it and find someone else. I politely said “you said this would only take a week”. She said we are busy because of lower interest rates. Here is your file or you can wait until we get to it. I stood up and took the file from her. As I left I said you are a rude a$$. At no time did I raise my voice or have any type of aggressive posture. I would not use Mr South until he has better customer service and a new office manager. I mean no disrespect to the lady that answered the phone or the office manager I just don't remember their names and don't know their official titles.

I would give 0 stars if I could. No communication at all. You call and they say they will call you back, but they don't! I will never use them for ANYTHING again!

They never return my calls

We recently had a closing with this office. They were rude and uninvolved in the transaction. They did not communicate at all. They told us that they were busy and had not been handling our transaction. Mark was pretentious and unapologetic when made aware of our concerns. At closing, they did not have everything in place. The wire was sent first thing that morning, but three hours later, they still had not confirmed the wire. When we asked for the closing disclosure that morning, Mark told us that we would have to wait on his assistant to come in. If you want a responsive and involved closing attorney, this is not the office to use. Apparently, they do not believe in customer service and are too busy to handle their business.
