I have had a previous divorce with multiple child custody modifications over the years and a brother that is a civil law attorney in the state of Oklahoma so I am very used to legal processes at this point in my life with that being said I made the mistake of hiring Jane Mapes through this firm for my second divorce after 9 years. Before hiring Mapes I already had a child support case coming up through the attorney general. Her paralegal , Jessica, kept informing me to disregard my multiple letters to attend a child support hearing that it would be consolidated into the divorce, this ended up being false information. I received a email the night before that I needed to appear in the morning with no communication even though I spoke to the paralegal several times and said do not communicate through emails I do not check my emails please call me directly it is my only form of communication. They showed up to the hearing that they told me not to go to and then charged me several thousand dollars for their appearance that I could have done my self. They did this with no communication with out my consent and after telling me on three separate occasions not to attend it was going to be consolidated in the divorce!! I never received calls back when I asked to speak with my attorney. Poor communication. Lazy and unprofessional I have never seen such a lack of Due diligence in the 5 attorneys I’ve hired throughout the years. 6 months later I hired another local attorney to modify the divorce the way I really wanted it since Jane Mapes didn’t even try to fight for the things I wanted she told me I wouldn’t get them any way in mediation so I would settle with out her having to really work . Overcharged, false information, And lack of diligence and poor communication. Coffee and peace were able to fix her mistakes and get me the terms I wanted 6 months later. Please don’t fall for reasonable payment plans like they advertise, you get what you pay for. And everything she filed was late, so late the other parties council Had to file a motion to force her to file the proper paperwork which she again made charges for. I’ve called and emailed and spoke with a secretary at the corporate office to discuss the false information on the attorney general case per paralegal Jessica that cost me thousands and they never returned my call back to address my complaints or the false invoicing.
