This repair shop is a shade tree shop. Long story cut as short as possible. I have a 97 Toyota Supra and felt great with my initial response from the crew at Take Flight Performance. They seemed knowledgeable and professional.nnWe put the Supra in the shop for a complete build back in 2017. We had an agreement with Robert Valadez that as long as we were paying on the car they would complete work as we went without storage fees. My build is currently 25,000 with them and we have been slowly paying over the course of the two years. We currently have dropped off $6800 with the shop and they have not done anything with the car.nnI have spoken numerous times with both Mathew and Robert to put a car cover on my car so that less damage would be done to the car on the inside since they were unable to get the window up.nnI carried $1300 up to them in March 2019 and was told by Mat that he did not know how much was in the account and would confirm with Robert Valadez. Here we are in August and not a single wrench has been turned on my car.nnToday, August 2, 2019, Mat would not allow us to pick up our car and informed us that Take Flight would be trying to charge us $11000 in storage fees. This was not for storage this was for work. Work that had not been done. Not to mention they could not keep up with the account that I had with them.nnI was called a nitpicking customer from Mat when I asked why no work has been done. Do not use this shop unless you want a build that will possibly end up in litigation to get back or you have the need to lose your car. Completely unprofessional and out of line business and absolutely the worst people to deal with business wise.
The guys here go above and beyond to make sure all of your performance needs are taken care of from start to finish! Reliable, honest and extremely knowledgeable in the field! Would not recommend any body else!
These guys took care of my 08 evo! I needed a clutch repair, and they went above and beyond what needed to be done. On top of that the pricing was really good! $$$
First off, I know some people that have had good experiences with Take Flight Performance and I told myself I would never do this, but this review is ABSOLUTELY necessary. I have never blasted any company in my life, but this is well deserved. I have had the worst experience you could ever imagine. I had a Cadillac CTS-V a few years back in which they did work on. I was quoted a price, then when it was time to pick up the vehicle, given a much higher price (more than $1,500 more) to pick up the car. When I asked about this, Robert told me that this was because there was fluids, gaskets, and additional parts he hadn’t accounted for. We got into a bad argument but squashed it, talked about it, and he apologized for not quoting me correctly and promised discounted work in the future (Shame on me for going back).nI got my Corvette C7 and he began working on the car for me. After months of doing a nitrous kit, E85 fuel system, and intake manifold, I finally got my car back. I had my car for TWO days and the engine blew! Robert said that it was because the Atomic Intake Manifold was a new part and was faulty, but could not get them to cover anything on my car. He promised me he would get a new engine for a great price and not charge me for labor or anything since it happened under their watch. $13,000 and 5 months later, I am STILL without my car. After four months of ETA’s that kept extending three or four weeks every time I’d ask, I finally lost it and told them I just want my car back and would take it to another shop. I told them I didn’t want the extremely expensive fuel system they were pushing so they gave me a $1,500 credit and told me that everything else was already ordered and couldn’t be refunded. MIRACULOUSLY, they got the parts within two weeks and the engine installed. Now that the engine is installed, there is a rear main seal leak. They promised my car would be ready within a week, but then clipped a wire causing an electrical issue so the car would not start. After taking it to a qualified mechanic, the car was running within 15 minutes and he pointed out the issues that were caused by them. They got the car back to their shop and took over a week to finally fix the issue that the qualified mechanic pointed out within 15 minutes. Now they say my car has a rear main seal leak that they cannot figure out. They mentioned that they weren’t sure why it was leaking, but a catch can would fix the issue. After waiting nearly two weeks for them to fix this issue, Robert tells me he can’t send me a tracking number for the catch can because they are made to order and will send him one after they make it. I finally call his partner Mathew to ask what’s going on, and he tells me that the catch can came in days ago, but they couldn’t figure out the leak. I finally told them to get the vehicle to the qualified mechanic and I will have him fix it for me. Remember the $1,500 I had paid for the more expensive fuel system? Well now, they refuse to pay me that money back because it went to fixing their oil leak mistakes on the car, $200 to install the catch can, and other various charges.nI know some people have had good experiences with these guys, but this hasn’t been the case. I have always marketed their shop, went above and beyond to say good things about them, and gave out their name to everyone who ever wanted work done. It started off as, I can’t be mad at these guys, they bit off more than they could chew and just couldn’t finish my car. It sucks that it took 10 months, and countless promises of completion to figure it out, but they’re good guys. But when they notified me that they were going to pocket the $1,500, that was the straw that broke the camel’s back.nPlease message me and I will be more than happy to show you guys screenshots of our conversations as well as the 25 thousand dollar turbo quote, 22 thousand dollar supercharger quote, or 7 thousand dollar fuel system quote.
