For years, by far the biggest obstacle that has prevented a regular workout schedule has been my own lack of motivation. I can get motivated for a week, or perhaps even a month...but sticking with it longer than that has proven nearly impossible. On a day to day basis, I might wake up with every intention of exercising...but as the day progresses, more often than not I could always find a reason NOT to work out. And...opting out on one day easily rolls into two days...days into weeks, weeks into months...nnFor this reason, I have often looked to personal trainers as a possible solution to the problem. By having an appointment to be kept, I found it easier to keep going...for awhile. The problem, though, is that most of the trainers I worked with didn't really care that much whether or not I made it into the gym. And if they didn't care whether I made it in or not, why should I...?nnThis all changed when I started working out with Dan at WorldWise Fitness. From the beginning, I told him that I wanted him to keep on me about it - and he has done just that. If I didn't show up for any reason, I would hear from Dan, with persistence and encouragement to make it back the next day. And, as a result, I have been working out with Dan four to five days a week for the last three months.nnThe workouts are fun, challenging, and extremely varied - everything you would want to keep things fresh and exciting. Even better, though - Dan cares about your success, and is willing to keep on you about it. Early on, it might even seem like Dan is more concerned about your success than you are. Somewhere along the way, though, this changed for me - and now I not only WANT to workout every morning - I NEED it. Physically, I feel great - I can tell that I am stronger now, and have more energy than I did just a few months ago. Even more importantly, though, is the effect it has had on my mental well being.nnNow, I no longer need to schedule workouts with Dan. It's just assumed by both of us that we will be there - unless specifically informed otherwise. And now I wake up excited for the day's challenge, and it no longer feels like a chore. Instead, it feels like a reward.
