Although the officer seemed compassionate, it took several phone calls over nearly a year's period of time to get him to come out and deal with the situation. When animal control has been called repeatedly about the same pet dog running loose, the owner needs to be fined immediately when he(she) repeatedly ignores the warnings and allows the pet to run loose on a busy road, especially when the pet has become a nuisance and is also destroying property. When it's a female dog involved which has neither been vetted with the required shots and also is not spayed, then the situation worsens when the animal is still not picked up and you now have 7 or 8 unwanted dogs ( the mother dog and her litter). Had the problem been effectively handled in a timely manner, there would only be one neglected pet for the shelter to try and rescue or adopt out.

I was mauled by a pitbull when I retired to my hometown of Darlington. Everytime I have called Darlington Animal Control I get nothing but excuses why they don't enforce safety laws for the citizens. Yesterday, coming home on my bike with groceries during this pandemic what did I experience? Another dog confrontation while the owner didn't do a thing but holler for me not to spray her dog with pepper spray. Who do I blame??? This taxpaid reason I've had nearly twenty dog attacks! So how to I feel? I'm moving away from Darlington. I will not pay to be attacked by dogs while Darlington hands out money to people who don't serve the public. The other month one of my neighbors discarded her beautiful pitbull after she had been bred one time. I guess she wasn't worth buying dogfood and it sure is a lot of work to get up and feed their wonderful dog. So letting her loose, she was hit by a car in the trailer park and died. A few days later while heading out for food on my bike I saw her at the fence of someone else's house where the real owners drove past their dog going and coming from work and just left her there. I got a little rope and tied it to her paw and laid her to rest along with any desire to be friends with a cruel dog owner. Where was Animal Control???nI will be posting picture via ABCNEWS15.

Thank you to Darlington animal control staff for their quick response to the needs of several dog rescues. Very caring toward the animals they came and took to safety. ud83dudc9dud83dudc9d
