Solid running trails outside of Charleston. Parking is a bit challenging, but if you're looking for a spot to get a long, uninterrupted run in (likely pretty muddy), then this is a pretty good option
My wife and I love it!!! Super clean, quiet area, perfect place to get away from a busy life. Doesn't get much traffic during off hunting season.
I've only been on the Palmetto Trail, so my experience was limited. The trail was very narrow in some areas and was sometimes flooded. The surrounding forest is usually longleaf pine savanna. Overall, the area was good, but I didn't encounter anything spectacular.
It was a good spot to camp, not very secluded though.
We (7 people) spent 7 hours over 3 days picking up litter and collected 75 large bags! People really should stop littering!
