Since my parents’ separation in 2012, these people have made it obvious they don’t care about children. When my court ordered therapist told my mother that my father tickling me was sexual abuse and she needed to report him, they didn’t allow him to see me and my siblings for three months. But when my sister tried to kill herself and went to a psychiatric hospital, they didn’t even investigate. When my mother kicked me out of my home at 17, they told me it didn’t matter because I would turn 18 soon anyway. When I reported my mother for emotional abuse and neglect, they informed her they were coming for a wellness visit way in advance. Since I have moved away, my younger siblings are still being abused and still struggling to thrive. They will not listen unless you’re the mother of the child. I wouldn’t put it past them to ignore a murder confession if it would keep their workload light and get to go home early. They do not care and they do not do their job. I wouldn’t even know how to fix this, so hopefully someone important reads these reviews and investigates them.

I'm refusing to give any star rating. They are not wanting to help keep families together. I have been trying to get my granddaughter in my home, but no one is wanting to help me from Berkeley County DSS.

Here’s the thing if most people are rating giving the same answer? It’s because most likely it’s accurate for this establishment. I have never seen such level of incompetence, not to mention how shady/illegal they run this “safe haven”. They use intimidation and the law enforcement thinking you don’t know your rights to remove your children with no evidence no written allegations nothing. Only in this backwater swamp of a state have I ever seen something like this? Oh and Mrs. Christine? Think that was her name the most arrogant self entitled pos liar I have ever met. You’re supposed to make children feel safe? No compassion no intelligence and will lie to your face, to the judges, to the lawyer. They literally skipped every legal step, told us nothing only but only when it suited them. Said we could call early they’d answer nope no answer at all. I’m sorry but this place is the devils playground, I’m sure there are good people out there that want to help and I’m sure there are real cases that need it, but this location is not one of them. Trust me. I hope you read this review and you remember my name and face...the damage you’ve caused my family. I pray to God you never have a family of your own because you will reap what you have sown and I don’t wish that on my worst enemy but this injustice treating us like criminals, hurting families? Darling enjoy that smirk while it lasts, God is good. Have a Merry Christmas.

Cut off assistance during Pandemic when all my paperwork was in ahead of time!!!

First of all, don't try calling. Most if not all there voicemail boxes are full. Also the rarely answer the phone ( I've never been able to get anyone on the line). Second don't fax anything to them from an outside fax machine...they will never get it, so they say. So you actually have to go there and pretty much pound on the door, so to say. Just to get someone who is partially competent. There are hardly anyone who is full competent when you need them.
