Don't judge a book by it cover, when I first walked into the building I wasn't expecting much but as I went throught the exhibits I learned a ton about the area. Friendly staff and informative displays is why this place recieves five stars.
So peaceful and beautiful
This is part of a Santee Canal Park. It's a great museum with just the right amount of display. If you really plan on getting the most out of it I would spend at least an hour and a half because there is a lot to read. The ground itself are historic. There's a great wildlife and art exhibit for children.
Very nice museum, its a good place for an elementary school field trip, would come again.
If you like local history, this place is wonderful. It's part of the Santee Canal Park, and for a small fee you can go and look at wonderful artifacts dating back to the 1800s and also fossils found in the area. I really enjoyed seeing a piece of South Carolina history, but that's just me.
