I stumbled upon this cafe today. The gumbo is literally the best gumbo I've ever had, and the chocolate chip cookies are amazing! The owner is incredibly personable and welcoming. This is the first Google review I've left for anything. I highly recommend this place!

Preeti Waas is the owner and chef at Cheeni! If you never met her, you are missing out! If you never had any of her food, you are also missing out! Preeti is one of the nicest person I know! She is kind, pleasant, generous...etc and an amazing cook. We ordered the chicken Biryani and Tikka Masala, wow absolutely delicious! We liked it so much, so we decided to do a monthly subscription. My favorite coffee spot downtown. Preeti is such a great business owner and person, always catering to the customer in any way she can. The coffee is some of the most consistently good in downtown and the chocolate chip cookies might be the best I've ever had (sorry mom). Great place to curbside pick up, Preeti will be out the door with your coffee before you can even park.
Such a lovely shop owner and space! Just what I needed on a rainy day - delicious daal, warm cookies, and spicy chai. Hidden gem that’s worth a visit.
