Sugar Valley Airport is a must visit! You have an excellent view of the lake and if you stick around, you might get the chance to see some planes land. There is plenty of room for picnics and camping.nAlso, Sugar Valley is home to the Sugar Valley Composite Squadron, your local Civil Air Patrol Squadron here in Mocksville.
Just went for the first time today. Absolutely beautiful. Would recommend to anyone who has a small plane to go. They also have a nice grass strip for taildraggers to have some fun on. It's like a park with an airport on it. Just look both ways before crossing the runway ;) A CAP Squadron is also based here. There's also a ground school which teaches how planes fly, how instruments work, a bit about the engine, and a few other things.
Great little airport with Very friendly people.
Sugar Valley Airport is an excellent small private airport. There's a nice lake and plenty of room for picnics and camping.
