Asheville Firefighters Camp Ground

Peaceful, by the river and a nice way for the union to thank all it's firefighters!

Enjoyed our stay overnight here. And even with the river being so high, the fishing was great. Wish we had brought more firewood on the kayaks though.

This is not a public campground or a very nice camp ground - my friend and I got lost on the river and stopped to find some information .. and before we could ask any one for help a women threaten us and said we passed five no trespassing signs (which we did not because we were lost on the river ) and when we apologized and just tried to explain we were lost she threatened us again and gave us exactly five Minutes to get off the camp ground... I thought fire fighters wanted to help and protect people not make threats to some lost kayakers ..

Great camp and location. Very lucky that IAFF Local 332 has this spot. Sushi is great as well!

Great place for an event right on the French Broad River..
