Cranesville Swamp Natural Area

One of my favorite local pieces of TNC property, went out here the other night and walked around in the moonlight and was rewarded with two Saw-whet owls coming back. The botany of the site is amazing as well. For me the trail systems are good and the boardwalk in good condition but might not suit everyone. I would recommend the location!

Beautiful preserve with varied and unique natural habitats. Great walk for families. Wear boots and clothes you don't mind getting muddy.

My kind of natural area. Isolated and empty. You can see a plantation forest and a carnivorous plant all in one unique place.

beautiful, secluded area. there were a lot of really nice paths to the bog area, and the actual swamp was super cool as well! the diversity in vegetation and plant life was just awesome, and it was great to just be in this undisturbed nature area. there were also multiple little spots that were spread out across the area, giving a lot of character to the already exciting paths. going here was a great time, and i'd love to come back again!
