Disorganized and beyond rude staff. Lieutenant Cooper is one of the most nastiest individuals you will ever come across! He takes pleasure in it and there is no Internal Affairs for the Sheriffs Office, just the Sheriff himself. Talk about a conflict of interest. Comical

Thanks for nothing. Inquiring minds want to know if the reason the Sheriff’s Department recommends peace orders is because they make $40 for each peace order served? A malevolent neighbor was angry that I’d taken legitimate legal action against them and issued a peace order against me as revenge, based on the “helpful” suggestion of someone at the Sheriff’s Department. In Maryland, it is shockingly easy for anyone to make a peace order claim absent validity – and have it granted! This means that innocent people must spend time and money for self-defense when they are the victim of malicious claims. And although the person making the false claims in the peace order is guilty of perjury, the government is too short staffed to pursue perjury prosecutions. So beware -- and KNOW THE LAW! If you receive notice of a peace order hearing, attend and defend yourself vigorously. Here are a few helpful hints: Be prepared to defend for the period from 30 days backward from the date of the peace order. Gather as many witnesses and as much hard evidence as possible. For e-mail, print all communications and bring them to court. The statute reads: “A person may not maliciously engage in a course of conduct, through the use of electronic communication, that alarms or seriously annoys another: (i) with the intent to harass, alarm, or annoy the other; (ii) after receiving a reasonable warning or request to stop by or on behalf of the other; AND (iii) without a legal purpose.” Notice the word “and” in requiring all 3 conditions to be met and the word “intent” for the action -- so aggressively defend yourself against the perjury of your lying accusers.

Needed a police report for an accident that had happened several years ago. I called in to the wrong department and was kindly transferred to the correct place, where the receptionist helped me find the case number and had the document printed out and ready to go by the time I had arrived. Very nice people there. Well done
