Mary Byrd has educated, mentored and inspired my daughter, Ani from the age of 3 to 13 years old. Mary is an excellent educator, she is creative, challenging, kind, dedicated, gentle, sincere, honest and extremely involved in every aspect of early child development. Mary's love of teaching inspires children, making learning natural, fun and joyful. Mary creates an atmosphere of independence within a structured interactive environment. Teaching is her life's calling and true passion. She immediately understands the child's mindset and becomes tuned in to the child. Mary fosters self disciplined, self motivated, engaged children. Mary is a true Montessori practitioner, as well as a child motivator. Mary inspires curiosity and awareness which cultivates the thought process in children. Mary equals Montessori, she was raised in her Mother's school, Little Flower Montessori and went on to teach there for 30 plus years. Mary has been and still is one of the most important people in the development of my child's life and education. Mary Byrd has been an asset in the life of thousands of children and will continue to be so with any child with whom she interacts.

Mrs. Mary Byrd has shown great intensity in educating my daughter. Her way of teaching is very hands on and allows my daughter to move through lessons at her own pace. She is learning patients and is absolutely in love with school!

I have had the pleasure of having Mrs. Mary Byrd as a teacher myself when she took over Little Flower Montessori from her mom. She was always one of my favorite teachers. I never realized how amazing the education I was getting was until I left LFM in the 6th grade and went to a public school where I was at least two grades ahead of everyone there! I am so blessed to now be able to send my own child to learn from Mrs. Mary! I couldn't be more excited to have this opportunity.

So excited for The Joyful Child Learning Community to open in east Fort Lauderdale. There could not be a more wonderful woman nurturing and teaching our children. Ms. Mary Byrd has been in the Montessori classroom for over 35 years and ultimately ended up the owner and Directress of Little Flower Montessori. She sold her school to spend more time with her 3 amazing boys and now as they grow older, is going back to what she was put on this earth to do! Her love of children and teaching is evident immediately upon seeing her interact with your child. It's as if time stands still and the only people in the room are her and the child she is interacting with. I was so grateful to have my children in her school form the age of 2 thru 12! She has a unique and special gift. She recognizes each child as an individual and is able to understand them, meet their needs and create an environment the fosters independence, respect and a love of learning. I can not say enough about Ms. Mary and thrilled she will be sharing her gift with our community! If only there were more of her!
