As a parent I was so excited to move to Florida and start my son in Odyssey Preparatory Academy with hearing about the impressive programs that would be offered to him throughout his educational experiences. I have not been let down. My son, who has challenges, is thriving because of the dedication of the administration, staff, and everyone that he encounters. I can't wait to see how successful he can be from this charter school.nnAs a 1st year educator at Odyssey Preparatory academy after 9 years of being an educator in another state, I couldn't have chosen a better school to work at. The standards and missions set for the students are of the highest for educational goals and I am fully supported by my co-workers, curriculum staff, and administration to meet those goals and provide the very best for the students that are in front of me each day. Coming from another state, it has taken getting used to the message that this school sets for its of TEAM but that is what it really is... a TEAM. I have no worries going to anyone for advice, leadership, colleague interactions, or discussions about personal teaching reflection and about reflection on how to improve for my students. Everyone is there to support and really be the TEAM for each other. It is refreshing to know that finally after 9 years I have found a place that truly is there for one another.

As a parent of a student at odyssey Prep I can't say enough good things about this family. I use the word family because that is how it feels. My son is new this year from an urban district and has been welcomed in with open arms. He has grown both educationally and socially this year. I am extremely pleased with the holistic education that my son is receiving and the extra care that is taken to ensure that he has a green experience at school. The food is excellent, where else are the kids eating fresh cut fruit and salad at lunch? Thank you Odyssey for all that you do, keep it up!

Odyssey Preparatory Academy is much more than a school to me. It is family. I grew up in Miami and attended school there when education was imperative. I knew that I wanted the same school community I experienced for my children. We visited OPA & immediately felt at ease. We were greeted with warm smiles & the classroom was neat, clean & tidy. My boys are thriving, accepted, loved & supported every day. We have made friendships that have evolved into family. Every morning when we assemble together as a school to begin the day, it fills me with pride to look around & feel so united. The community & school of OPA has personified the dream I had for my children. I feel so blessed to be here.

As both an educator (since 2004) at OPA and a parent who has a kindergartner in Odyssey Prepatory , I can say with complete fidelity that this institution is the best one I have seen in the Melbourne, Palm Bay, and surrounding areas.nnIn NY, I worked for Three Village, Somers, Rocky Point, and Brentwood. You can research those environments I have been exposed to since 2004 to see where my baseline is for comparisons. Thus, when I became an educator in Florida, I worked in the public school sector and a neighboring charter school, and I can say from empirical experiences and my own son's academic growth that OPA excels in curriculum implementation, discipline, and citizenship. Out performing the surrounding schools. You can't imagine my excitement as a parent!nnMy son went from not achieving a reading level to scoring as a Late Kindergarten by November ! I have seen the administration deal with incidents promptly and fairly. I have also seen an influx of former students from my old school come over here because they want to excel !

This year my daughter was inappropriately touched by a fellow student. My daughter no longer wanted to be around this student and asked for him to be removed fr the class, he wasn’t and when he came back to school the following day he did it again, in the classroom.nThen my daughters teacher (Ms.Sear) decided to let a man she had been dating for a few months- into the classroom with all the children. He used his personal phone to take photos of my daughter, which made her very uncomfortable. The teacher then lied about it.nNothing has been done and Monica is corrupt and doesn’t care about the kids and only herself. Monica has called me and threatened me for speaking out against this campus.nThe only reason I didn’t give them a lower rating is because I’m 1st grade my oldest had Mrs. Rodriguez who is an amazing teacher and treated my child- like her own. Also the VPK program was really wonderful.nSo happy that my children are switching campuses. Good Riddance.
