Great park! The kids love the pirate theme in the playground.
My kids and I love Elmwood Park! When it's warm, they play in the sprinklers at the ampi-theater. We have even been pleasantly surprised by the Roanoke Symphony Orchestra playing songs from some of our favorite movies while there. We keep the festivals on our calendar and attend as many as possible. Sitting in the park during a lunch break nearly guarantees a squirrel visit. The playground behind the library has a unique and fun pirate ship theme. It's a very short stroll from the farmer's market, which is a big bonus for us.
Took my son there on sunday to hunt pokemon. There are tons of pokestops but Park was filled with homeless and clearly mentally ill people. Plenty of free parking on sunday if you don't mind wondering when your going to get attacked or robbed.
Nice place to have a walk around the city, to spend some time outside with lids and family.
Quiet place, right in the heart of town. Always a few people just hanging out here.
