I have used H&R Block in the past however after this past experience I will go elsewhere. As I stated have utilized their services previously. I called the Burlington office they asked the standard questions and verified my taxes were done previously in their Billerica office. I questioned what the rates were this year was told I would pay the same as last year the rates have not changed. Today went to pick up my paperwork and was told my bill was for $350.00 I informed them I was told my bill last year was $218.00. Maureen Archibald my tax preparer verified that I did indeed pay $218.00 and was helpful but could not give me a valid answer why the charge increased by over 50%. She did contact her manager Stuart Pringley who offered a deduct of $65 but no solid answer why my tax prep service went up by over 50%. Bottom line I paid the $285.00 and will NEVER USE THIS PARTICULAR OFFICE AGAIN. I HAD A SIMPLE STATE RETURN A FEDERAL RETURN AND A 1099 INCOME FORM .. OUTRAGEOUS PRICINGnNO VALID ANSWER WHY. I WILL NOT BE BACK I WILL SHARE MY EXPERIENCE WITH MY GROUP.
