So, this is a 2-mile blue-blazed trail that starts a little North of where Google maps shows the AT crossing. The AT crosses Suiter Road South of the large gravel lot, which can be seen from the satellite view.nnIt connects to the AT at a clearly marked junction and trail sign. Trail Boss is the former AT route. You can take the AT South back through 10ish switchbacks to the parking lot/Suiter Road to complete a loop or go North on the AT to US-52.nnI started on the AT from the parking lot, North to 52. Hopped on Trail Boss Trail to get back.
This Trail is attached to part of the Appalachian Trail. The elevation starts at 2,400 and goes up to 3,100. It is a absolutely beautiful 3 or 4 mile hike. I would say it is a moderate hiking difficulty. Much of the thin path drops off on one side, some smooth and some rocky.nThe area was dry when we were there. Definitely would be more difficult if the water was running in some of the gullies. There are no Bridges except for the big one near the road
