Very nice campground, not too big, and many shaded spots available for tents or large RV's. Lots of great hiking trails, beautiful scenery, and clean facilities. The camp host sells firewood. Come well stocked as the closest full service grocery store is about a 45 to 60 minute drive away. There is a small convenience store closer, but they only carry the basics.nnRegarding large RV's and large trailers, if you're not comfortable or skilled in driving on twisty mountain roads with tight turns that have negative banking and change elevation, you may want to reconsider driving into this area. That being said, there were many large rigs at the campground... The road (Rt 58) up the mountain isn't for the faint of heart or first time big rig drivers. If you're an experienced big rig driver you shouldn't have problems.

Loved our stay here. The grounds are well kept and the sites were spacious. Great access to clean bathroom facilities and water. Lots of activities and beautiful hikes. We saw the ponies and played in a waterfall. We were sad to leave and will come again!

Grayson highland state park is one of the best places in virginia. If you haven't been here you need to be here. The campground was well stocked in the restrooms they were clean all in all a wonderful experience

Beautiful area for easy car camping and amazing hiking with the ponies.

This is lovely, but very isolated. Be sure to have everything you need. Great hiking and a sweet and quiet campground. Adequate bathroom.
