Great place to fly into for breakfast and lunch or brunch. Well maintained. What else can you fly into and be next to a beach within 100 ft with your airplane?! Been going there for years with my Bonanza. If you do go and fly in please donate generously to the maintenance of the airport. It is the longest grass trip airport in the country on Martha's vineyard no less ud83dude00
Nothing beats this place for a fun fly in on Martha's Vineyard. What's better than a grass strip, taxing to parking and then walking across the street to go to the beach. The field is extremely well maintained and safe for delicate landing gear. Public transportation bus can get you into town if you so desire. For the pilot who hasn't gone there yet, you really don't want to miss it.
Vintage throwback grass airstrip in Edgartown, Martha's Vineyard! Park at the north end of the field for a bite to eat at Right Fork Diner (on the field) and for fuel. Beach parking on the south end of the field - just walk across the road!
Great plane spotting area but make sure to come on a clear day.
Classic aviation at it's best! Not many small airports like this left in the area that have stayed true to the roots of aviation. Katama will be on my regular stop list every summer when I'm flying around looking for things to do.
