The road to Hana was a great trip. Not sure I will go all the way next time. :)

This is a must. If you like driving (like I do), you must rent a car and do the drive yourself. It's such a beautiful drive! However, be careful... it gets really narrow in certain sections where only one lane of traffic (barely) can pass. You definitely need to drive cautiously because some of the locals don't really care for the tourists and will take the right of way. I recommend starting this one early to beat the tours. Also, having a little bit of peace on the road adds to the experience. Also, it takes a good day to drive there and back so make sure you leave enough time for activities and stops. I don't recommend stopping at every pullout to see waterfalls or other scenic spots. There's almost no room to stop on the side of the narrow roads and it can be quite sketchy if you ask me... There are so many other beautiful spots that aren't as chaotic so pick your moments as you please. If you don't like driving or don't want the hassle, pick a tour. I've never done one of these so I can't really comment on if they're worth it or not. Lastly, if you get car sick easily, I wouldn't recommend, there are endless switchbacks and hairpin turns.

Interesting driving experience, however I do advice to start trip early, as we arrived to Hana when it was dark.nRoad back was kind of stressful, but I guess it was luck of experience driving narrow roads

The road to Hana is long and winding is a beautiful and enjoying ride with a lot of incredible sights and Hikes to see and do that hands at the nice little town of Hana with Black Sands and Red Sands Beach
