My son entered St. Anthony his freshman year. It was hard for him at first coming from a public school system and in hawaiian immersion. He faced alot of challenges, especially his English and spelling. His first year as a freshman he had to take classes with 7th & 8th graders, that's how behind he was coming into a private school. He quickly caught up to his grade level and by his Junior year he was doing college level studies. He graduated from St. Anthony in 2015. It was the best decision I ever made for my son. It made it easier for him to transition when he went to college in the mainland because he was already at college level when it came to his studies. So he didn't feel intimidated by the work he had, once he entered college. He was more open to his future and with the help of his teachers, coaches and counselor he was able to experience college in the mainland and also played college basketball. He will be graduating on May 19, 2017 with his Associates Degree in Health and Exercise Science and will transfer to Southern Oregon University in the fall to finish up his Bachelor's Degree in Kinesiology.
