I was a student there and graduated after 4 years. Honors/AP teachers are generally very good, and STEM/non STEM classes prepare you well for university. I would encourage new students to be involved in active organizations (there are many to choose from). The art department, which I had 4 years of experience with, is excellent (arguably one of the top in the state, based on awards). Even early classes reflect some college art departments quite well and prepare you well for later life.

This school was amazing to go to. The campus is huge and the teachers I had all cared for their students... Wait no. The math teachers didn't. At least it didn't seem that way. The last math teacher I had that I liked was in 7th grade at Iao School. Mrs Shimabukuro cared about her students. Yet, I digress. If you were in the honors classes, like I was, you will get a stellar education. If you are in the special needs classes, you will get the attention you deserve. If you fall in anywhere in between those two, and this goes for all of Hawaii education, you will be lost in the shuffle. You have to push your kids to work harder so they are not lost.
